What’s Human Trafficking?
The process of trapping people through by using physical violence, deception or coercion and exploiting them for personal and financial gains is called human trafficking. In trafficking girls are groomed and forced into sexual exploitation whereas, men are tricked into accepting risky job offers and are tapped in forced labour in building sites, farms, factories. Women gets appointed to work in private homes to trap, exploited and abuse them behind closed doors.
For human trafficking to take place, people don’t necessarily have to be sent across borders– it can take place within a single country, or even within a single community.
People can be trafficked and exploited in many forms, which includes being forced into sexual exploitation, child labour, forceful begging, crime (such as growing cannabis or dealing drugs), domestic servitude, marriage or removal of organ.
In today 's world, human trafficking is considered one of the biggest crime. Even though people don’t realize it, but it exists today. One issue that really makes me feel scared from even the general people sometimes is the issue of human trafficking and how it has effected the world mainly because this is an underlining problem that nobody seems to take seriously. Several women, men, and even children are affected by human trafficking. Through the means of threat, deception, or power or abuse, human trafficking means the transfer or receipt of an individual from one place to another.
Human trafficking is something which we all have heard about in tv or newspaper but it's actually happening around without your knowledge and is one of the cruelest and hurtful acts that are happening in our society. It directly violates the rights. It majorly happens in the regions of the world where there isn’t much danger for the traffickers.
In 2014, forced labor alone generated around 140 billion dollars according to the international labor organization. It was in 2012 that around 21 million victims were in modern day slavery through international labor organization. Human trafficking is one of the most heinous crimes which exists in our time which is getting any recognition. At the international level, human trafficking is the latest most happening crime. In almost every part of the country, this modern crime is spreading its wings very rapidly. We have explained the meaning and reasons behind the spread of this menace, in this blog.
Human trafficking is a very organized crime on which government has implied multiple laws to corner it but it is still happening in India. Already India is considered as one of the most dangerous places for women. Human trafficking should definitely be on our list of concerns because already it is high in numbers. There should be enough resistance against it to neutralize the situation as it is establishing itself as an organized and highly profitable crime. To end human trafficking all over the world, authorities have been making amendments for a long time opposing the acts of forced labor, sex trafficking, organ trade, forced marriage and child trafficking, but it hasn’t been that effective as it is still happening largely around the world. An efficient and better mindset towards human trafficking comes from the people of a society.
